Avastar - vedere panoramica Modernized Slaughterhouse Avastar Roscani Avastar - taste and flavor of meat

Avastar modernized slaughterhouses is one of the Suceava area who managed it during the crisis to develop a new concept giving consumers about the quality and freshness of meat, soon becoming a reliable supplier for both meat processors, and networking retail.

How did you start the Avastar story?

Avastar meat industry entered the market in 1994, aiming to give consumers a new concept of quality and freshness. Due to continuous investment in tech every year we managed to develop and grow both our quality of our products and services that we offer.
In the first years of the company and had a department of 3 tons per day of traditional products, which had great success, but I chose to follow a single line of development, namely the slaughter.

What is your concept about the quality and freshness of meat you provide?

Investing in tech and new equipment has always been a priority for Avastar, with the resulting product quality. Therefore, the modernization program of the slaughterhouse and the European Union standards by implementing an integrated management system (IMS) on food safety and quality ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 22000:2005 have been able to provide our partners guarantee quality and freshness of meat marketed.
The raw material is carefully selected for slaughter of animals so that purchases are made from specialized farms that we collaborate for years, but also from households from Bucovina, an area known throughout the country for breeding.

What were the reasons that led you to invest in creating a slaughterhouse?

I work in the meat of 1988 when I started as a butcher in the slaughter line at the Meat Industry Booking System and experience, and attraction to an area that you have mastered very well led me to invest in creating a slaughterhouse to meet the conditions as and preparation of meat according to European Union standards.

What are the facilities that you have the new drive?

All facilities, including slaughter technologies are the latest generation of new lines separately for pork, as well as beef, we have a new cold storage capacity of 100 tons / day and a section of modern cutting and vacuum packing machinery. Slaughterhouse capacity is 5,000 tone's per year which represents approximately 22 tone's per day. We are processing about 10-15 tone's per day depending on existing orders and sales tips periods. On average we can say that working at a capacity of 300 tone's per month.

How we distribute your products?

Avastar has a new logistics park, which satisfies the conditions of time and quality requirements of all clients. Avastar ensure optimum hygienic transportation of meat to the point of delivery using a modern fleet of cars equipped with cold, thus allowing transport of Avastar any location in the country.
Distribution is done at the national level, we are addressing in particular units of small and medium meat processing, and customers who sell fresh meat as traditional stores, retail outlets and of course the butchers and butcher's shops.

What is the range of products that you sell?

We have a wide range of fresh meat products, carcass and cut pieces. 70% of meat sold is the percentage of pork, the remaining 30% being represented by the beef.
Our products fresh pork meat or beef are directed to all sales channels in Romania, from retailers to manufacturers. Avastar do everything possible to satisfy all quality standards and product safety, in strict compliance with veterinary standards in force and imposed a professional specialization of our employees.

What is the main goal of the market, price or quality?

Price and quality equally. But the first thing needed is quality and then discuss the price. There are clients who are only interested in price, but clients that are interested very much quality and I am referring especially to customers in HO.RE.CA. General market trend in demand is focused on fresh meat.

How does the relationship of partnership that you have with chains and shops who actually work?

Avastar earned the trust of its partners through professionalism, building and developing partnerships with leading retailers in the market, but also with those who represent the traditional retailer, neighborhood shops, butchers.
We have a good relationship with chain stores and even I enjoyed the fact that your magazine treated the relationship between us, meat producers and retailers. We work with leading market retailers such as Auchan, Mega Image, Interex, who generally provide cover pork or beef.

What are the main problems you face in this difficult period?

A big problem this time is that the companies that became insolvent. For example, we were a bit destabilized by entering into insolvency problem Pic and Trident retailers from whom we recovered several billion today better. We also encounter difficult problems in recovering money from the market, and the drastic decrease in the prices of imported meat. Most important in doing this is to spin the wheel, we come to sell the money back.

You are one of the founding members of Made in Bukovina. How do you see the evolution of this initiative?

It is a laudable initiative by the fact that in this way are supported local producers from Bukovina to hang out with their products, products whose quality is recognized throughout the country. I was present at the first fair organized by the "Made in Bukovina” and we continue to develop this initiative in the interest of all producers.

What is the evolution of fresh meat sales this year? What are the estimates for next year?

Given the current situation I can say that 2009 was a good year, an increase of 40% over 2008, which was due to increasing the capacity of our slaughterhouse, and the distribution area, and listing in multiple networks stores. This increased market share of the company, which allows us to fix new horizons.
For 2010 we estimate an increase of 20% or, if a pessimistic scenario, to reach at least the year 2009.
